Hello, world

Why I built this site from scratch and what you'll find here.

  • #meta

Every engineer has a folder of half-finished personal sites. This is the one I actually finished.

I built it by hand in React instead of starting from a template, partly because I wanted it to look like me and partly because building it was a good excuse to practice things I care about: clean component boundaries, accessible markup, and animation that respects people who prefer reduced motion.

What's here

  • Projects. Each one is written up like a short engineering sheet: what it does, how mature it is, and what it's built with.
  • Notes. Write-ups of things I've built, debugged, or learned. Some are technical deep dives, some are short lessons.
  • A few things to click. The radar at the top responds to the Ping and Lock buttons, the project drawings have an isometric view, and there is a control panel at the bottom of every page. None of it is required reading.

Why write things down

Writing is the fastest way I know to find out whether I actually understand something. If I can't explain a decision in a paragraph, I probably shouldn't have made it yet.

If you read this far, thanks for stopping by. My inbox is open.

End of entry. Thanks for reading.
